There are moments when tattooing moves beyond the skin and becomes something more—an act of connection, a shared responsibility, a way to make a tangible difference. Heartwork: The Hero Collection is one of those moments.
Bringing together 20 tattoo artists under a common vision, this collective project is built on a simple yet powerful belief: tattooing can go beyond aesthetics and become a force for change. Created in support of the Bikers Against Child Abuse Southlands Chapter, active in London, Heartwork transforms creativity into a tool for awareness and fundraising, standing alongside children who have experienced abuse.

At its core, Heartwork is about connection. Each artist involved has contributed an original piece—not for personal recognition, but to take part in something larger than themselves. The result is a diverse and compelling collection that spans styles, mediums, and approaches: from mixed media works like Lion by Lily Heather, to etched glass interpretations such as Esmee Godfrey’s Christ, to unconventional surfaces including tattooed vintage objects, painted leather jackets, skateboards, and even custom guitars donated by PRS Guitars.

Artists such as Lily Heather, Esmee Godfrey, Uxia Santos, Tommy Farrow, Jason James Smith, Chloe Peach, Adrian DeLargue, Laura Lenihan and Kellz Morgan each bring their own visual language into the project, expanding the idea of what tattoo culture can inhabit. Skin is no longer the only canvas—here, tattooing becomes a mindset, a way of marking meaning across different materials and forms.

Tattooing has always been deeply rooted in storytelling. It can mark a moment, reclaim identity, or carry something personal forward. Heartwork builds on this legacy, shifting the narrative from individual expression to collective impact. Every piece in the collection becomes part of a wider gesture: standing beside young people who need support, strength, and the reassurance that they are not alone.

The initiative supports the work of B.A.C.A., an organization dedicated to helping children living with the effects of abuse. Through both physical presence and emotional support, B.A.C.A. empowers young individuals to regain a sense of safety, control, and confidence. Rather than replacing existing services, their role is to reinforce them—creating a visible, protective network around each child, ensuring they no longer feel isolated or afraid.

The project will culminate in a live auction, where all one-of-a-kind artworks will be presented and sold, with proceeds going directly to support B.A.C.A.’s mission. The response from the tattoo community has been remarkable, highlighting what can happen when artists come together with a shared purpose.

Heartwork: The Hero Collection is not about individual recognition. It is about what happens when a community aligns around a cause. It is a reminder that tattooing, at its best, is not only about what is placed on the skin—but about what that art can stand for.
