Kat Von D have announced her brand new album, ‘My Side of the Mountain’, alongside her latest singles ‘Illusion’ and ‘Truth in Reverse’.

Taking the album name from the famous book ‘My Side of the Mountain’, the forthcoming album from Kat Von D explores themes of love and sobriety. Behind the scenes, she has been working towards finding peace amidst the chaos by focusing on her family and music.
‘My Side of the Mountain’ will be released on September 20th and features guest vocals from Alissa White-Gluz of Arch Enemy and LA songwriter Ferras.
Kat Von D said about her new project: «‘My Side of the Mountain’ is a love letter for all the hopeless romantics, the outsiders, and lonely hearts trying to find their place in this cold and divisive world. When I was a kid, I read the 1959 novel ‘My Side of the Mountain’ and related so deeply to the little boy who ran away from home only to find comfort in isolation, self-reflection, and self-reliance in the wilderness.»
The L.A. artist added: «There’s a comfort in dreaming of escapism, sure. But this album isn’t about that. It’s about confronting the s**t we don’t want to face, accepting the things we can’t control, and fighting for the things that matter. This album is about my side of the argument. My side of the bed. My side of the line drawn in the sand. My side of the mountain. And I hope it makes others who feel the same, a little less alone in this world.»
Kat Von D has done everything from shaking up the tattoo industry to starring in hit TV shows, writing best-selling books, and creating a beauty empire. But before all of that, her first love was music. She poured her heart into melodies and songwriting before she became known for her work in tattoos and makeup.
With a background in classical music and an eclectic appreciation for different genres, it’s clear that music has always been her passion. Now, she’s making waves in the goth/synthwave scene.
