On Saturday, January 13th, downtown Los Angeles’ Corey Helford Gallery (CHG) will ring in the new year with the tenth annual Art Collector Starter Kit group show (ACSK X), featuring affordable, new 12” x 12” works from over 75 established and emerging artists from across the globe.
Smaller, more affordable new works by very popular and new artists was the inciting idea behind CHG’s annual group show when it was launched in 2013, to pursue the mission of the gallery spreading the joy and satisfaction of art appreciation and collection to the larger public.
CHG’s owner, Jan Corey Helford, says, “CHG was created with the intention of making art available to collectors of all ranges, with the radical assertion that ‘art for the elite only’ is a distortion of the real purpose of art − to create something that stirs the hearts and minds of everyone and anyone who can view it.”
“Every year, the artists are asked to submit works that are 12” x 12” in size, an explosion of creativity in a multitude of mediums (including oil, acrylic, charcoal, sculpture, and installation). The result is a varied show where all in attendance are sure to find something to delight their tastes and ignite their passions.”
ACSK X includes works from the likes of Adrian Cox, Bennett Slater, Brandi Milne, Camilla d’Errico, Chloe Early, Eric Joyner, Josie Morway, Luke Chueh, Martin Wittfooth, Messy Desk, and ONCH, just to name a few.
Open to the public and free of charge, Art Collector Starter Kit X is set to debut on Saturday, January 13th from 7:00 pm – 11:00 pm in the Main Gallery, alongside a solo show from Chinese artist Li Shanmei, titled Lucid Dreaming, in Gallery 3. Both shows will be on view through February 17th.
