Tattoo Life proudly presents Travel Tool, a new series of books dedicated to research, study, and the ongoing evolution of the tattoo artist’s visual language. Designed in a practical, portable format (16.5 × 23.5 cm), with approximately 150 pages per volume, the series has a clear objective: to provide an in-depth and specialized exploration of a particular style, subject matter, or approach to drawing as applied to tattooing.
Each title is entrusted to a single artist, selected among the finest contemporary interpreters of a specific style or subject. Rather than creating a simple sketchbook, Tattoo Life has invited each artist to develop a carefully curated collection of pure outline drawings: reference and inspirational tools, true graphic archives from which tattooers can begin their work with the confidence of having solid, authoritative, and technically accurate references to develop their chosen subject among the hundreds of possible interpretations available.

The series launches with its very first volume:
Paul Dobleman – Lines and Drawings
As the subtitle suggests, this book is entirely devoted to drawing. It features hundreds of lines, outlines, and compositions by Paul Dobleman, presented through his instantly recognizable style—characterized by fluid movement and the unmistakable touch of melancholy that emerges from the expressions of his characters.

A valuable archive of references for anyone passionate about contemporary Traditional tattooing and eager to study the graphic process of one of its most influential practitioners.
A Series Born from Audience Demand
The idea for Travel Tool emerged from the remarkable success of the small-format booklets included with two highly acclaimed publications. The first was the booklet accompanying the deluxe edition of the book dedicated to Ichibay, titled Lines and Drawings, which collected the outlines of the artist’s renowned Japanese subjects and quickly sold out.

This was followed by the companion volume included with Best of Times by Stizzo, a collection entirely dedicated to Traditional tattooing that further confirmed the strong demand for compact, practical, and highly focused reference books.

Drawing from this experience, Travel Tool now becomes an independent series, destined to grow with new authors, new styles, and new study resources.
Travel Tool: small in format, big in content.
