Aura Ninety Four was born from a fortunate meeting between tattoo artist Luke (@lukeaashley) and Annie (@annigbelle), a former manager of a London-based studio. During the 2020 lockdown, the pair began working together on merchandising and bookings, soon discovering they made the perfect team. In 2021, they decided to open a space of their own — and so Aura Ninety Four came to life, right in the vibrant Design District of South East London, next to North Greenwich station and the O2 Arena. The idea? To create a studio where every artist could express their full potential and every client could feel truly welcome.
With bright spaces and an industrial-style atmosphere, Aura Ninety Four is a place where tattooing becomes a ritual, grounded in conversation and deep, meaningful connection with the client. Annie, who comes from a graphic design background, developed a strong and recognisable visual identity for the studio, while Luke, who started tattooing at just 15, made palm tattoos his signature, constantly pushing the boundaries of technique.
“Luke’s and my vision is for the studio to be a space that is open for everyone who wants to push the limits of what’s possible in tattooing and to make the best tattoos they can. There’s also a heavy focus on the client’s experience and making sure the studio is a space where everyone is accepted and feels happy and comfortable to be tattooed in.”
Today, Aura is home to a team of resident artists with diverse styles, united by mutual respect for the craft and for their clients. From fine line to Blackwork, from anime characters to tribal-inspired designs, every tattoo is created with care, attention, and passion.
“We have an amazing team of artists tattooing alongside us in a variety of styles which allows us to take on clients with all kind of requests, from small minimalist pieces to complete body suits. The idea of having a space that is open to everybody is what describes us best!”
Jasper (@sadgirltattoo) creates oracle matter tattoos, a world they’ve designed filled with pattern work and all-seeing eyes.
Charlie (@wulfbaron) is the King of Swords, producing dark, detailed Blackwork with a fantasy focus on weapons and creatures.
Em (@emptydeviltattoo) crafts fractal tattoos blending cybersigilism and Neo-Tribal, which he freehands to fit each body perfectly.
Ryan (@dobby.tattoo) specialises in fine line and micro realism, especially animals and florals.
Megan (@megandotart) works in an illustrative fine line style, often using continuous line drawing and a minimalist touch.
Sergio (@sergio_canete) is the master of sketchy, illustrative pieces — his fine art background brings a technical depth, often featuring human figures.
Dominga (@nooirtattoo) creates bold Blackwork and Neo-Tribal tattoos, frequently freehanding designs for striking placements like hands and necks.
Lucy (@lucyscovelltattoo) produces fine line and ornamental pieces, often inspired by traditional tattoo imagery and vintage magazines, reimagined in a modern way.
Raph (@glasshalfinked) is passionate about anime and BL — characters from her favourite series often take centre stage in her work.
Victor (@victor_armero) is an exceptional Black and Grey Realism artist, known for his portrait work and technical mastery.
Oscar (@oscar.tttst_) creates haunting, surreal Blackwork, focusing on abstract faces and eerie eyes.
Amy (@linkachuu.tattoo) was the studio’s apprentice until last year — now she tattoos in a colourful Neo-Traditional style with Japanese influences.
LHK (@lhkiosk) designs vivid illustrative anime tattoos and flash designs — often cat-themed, of course!
Isa (@isabelly) works in colour with a pastel goth aesthetic, specialising in anime and Sanrio-style characters.
Martyna (@martynatattoo) produces illustrative Blackwork inspired by Japanese motifs, anime, and video games — especially reflected in her girl-focused designs.
Aura Ninety Four is open to all. The studio’s industrial aesthetic — with high ceilings, exposed pipework, and concrete walls — is balanced with softer design touches to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The abundance of natural light makes it feel clean and serene, with a neutral, versatile look — a blank canvas for the artists’ creativity.
“For anyone that hasn’t been yet — come and check us out and experience Aura Ninety Four for yourself!”
