This young tattoo artist originally from Belgium works at the semi-private studio ‘Atelier Opiate’ in Caen and loves Black-n-Grey to give even more contrast to his works.
Hi Thomas, is it true that you started tattooing professionally only four years ago? What did you do before that?
Yes, I started tattooing in 2021. Before that, alongside my studies, I spent a lot of time drawing, mostly realism stuff.

Yours is an excellent Realism in Black-n-Grey rich in nuances and details. How did you find this stylistic figure of yours?
Thank you very much! I’ve always had a strong connection to Realism, both in drawing and tattooing. It’s all based on careful observation, studying photos and anatomy. I’m always working to improve my textures, contrasts, and the emotion I can bring into each piece.

Do you also look at the work of other artists or do you prefer to stay totally focused on your work and your method?
Yes, I do look at the work of other artists from time to time. Some have been a real inspiration to me, like Thomas Carli Jarlier (IG: @thomascarlijarlier), Matteo Pasqualin (IG: @matteopasqualin), Neon Judas and many others.

Would you describe your tattoo style as ‘baroque’, in the sense that it aims to amaze the viewer with macabre details or striking concepts?”
I’m not sure I’d describe my style as “baroque”, but I definitely try to provoke an emotion. Whether it’s through intense expressions, strong contrasts, or a dark atmosphere, I aim to capture the viewer’s attention and leave a lasting impression.

I read on Instagram that you are currently in Caen. So you work in a tattoo studio and can you be reached only by email?
Yes, I currently work at ‘Atelier Opiate’ in Caen, a semi-private studio. I work by appointment only, and requests are mainly handled via email. I find it’s the easiest way to stay organized.

What are your plans for fall/winter 2025/2026? Travels, tattoo conventions, guest spots, new projects?
I plan to attend more conventions in 2026. For now, the next one will be the Deauville tattoo convention (IG: @deauvilletattoofestival). I also have a few guest spots lined up, notably at ‘La Cale Tattoo’ in Belgium (IG: @julien_lacale) and ‘Leto Tattoo Studio’ in Switzerland (IG: @leto_tattoo_studio).

And your last famous words are… ?
Focus on the process, not the outcome. The result will speak for itself.
