We met the owner of Hali Tattoo Studio in the small Polish town of Gorlice; another great example of the talented, visionary, and cutting-edge art coming from this country.
Hi Marek, I know you’ve earned your stripes in this profession. Can you briefly tell me about your history as a tattoo artist?
When I was young and had some drawing experience, I went to get tattooed. During the session, seeing the setup and the whole tattooing process really inspired me. Getting my first tattoo at nineteen felt magical, and that’s when I decided to try tattooing on my own.

You once defined your style as “Realism mixed with geometry and hints of abstraction.” Do you still feel the same, or has something changed over time?
I’ve removed the geometric elements from my designs. For quite some time now, I’ve been focusing on strong compositions—sometimes with deeper meaning, sometimes just visually appealing.
I’m always trying to improve the quality of my work.

How does the creation process of your tattoos work? Does the client bring an idea, and you add the remaining 90%—imagination, flair, and creativity?
Mostly yes. Although what I love the most is when the client gives me full freedom with the design and concept.

Can you tell me about your business, Hali Tattoo Studio in Gorlice, Poland? I know you work with two other artists, Dawid and Klaudia…
Yes, my studio (IG: @halitattoostudio) is located in a small town, and it’s an intimate space. I get along really well with my team. It’s always great to hear clients who travel from far away say that we have an amazing atmosphere at Hali Tattoo Studio.

How was your 2025, and what big plans do you have for 2026?
2025 was very busy, and 2026 will be just as intense as I keep working to improve my craft. I’m also planning to give some seminars next year—I think that will help me in my tattooing as well.

Why do you think Poland produces so many incredibly talented tattoo artists?
I think our nation is generally very ambitious, and the high standard set many years ago motivates everyone to live up to it.

And your last famous words are…?
Stay true and keep pushing forward.
