Vitalina, welcome to Tattoo Life. Would you like to introduce yourself to our readers?
Hi, thank you so much! I’m Vitalina, a fine line tattoo artist currently based in Leipzig, Germany. I originally come from Odesa, Ukraine. I’ve been working in the tattoo industry for five years now, and for the past two years, I’ve been part of a studio here in Leipzig that I truly love.
How did you come across tattooing?
I got into tattooing about five years ago. Ever since I was a child, I’ve had a passion for drawing, but over time I realized I didn’t want my art to stay on paper — I wanted it to become something more permanent, something that lives with people. Tattooing allowed me to turn creativity and emotion into something meaningful and personal.
That connection between art and human expression is what truly drew me in.

Did you start tattooing at your current studio in Leipzig?
The studio I currently work at isn’t my first — I’ve worked in other studios before, but I’ve been with my current one for the past two years. It’s a very creative and supportive environment, and I’m grateful to be part of it.
Your tattoo style is very distinctive — black and grey fine line. What drew you to this aesthetic?
I specialise in fine line tattoos — a style that’s clean, minimal, delicate, and highly detailed. I’m also influenced by micro-realism, which I often blend with fine line to create soft yet striking designs. I’m drawn to elegance and subtle storytelling through ink. Hand-drawn lettering also inspires me deeply — it adds a truly personal and emotional touch to my work.
How do you approach designing a tattoo while keeping it unique for each client?
Tattooing is both a personal and shared experience. It’s my way of expressing art and emotion, while also building meaningful connections with clients.

Each piece reflects a story, a feeling, or a personal journey — and that bond between artist and client makes every tattoo truly unique.
Every design I create is custom, based on the client’s ideas and personality.
I pay close attention to finding a style that suits them individually — even with ornamental designs, I believe there’s character within the lines that can reflect the energy of the person. The client’s story is incredibly important. It helps guide the tone, placement, and emotion behind every detail.
Do you have any favourite subjects or themes that best represent your style?
I’m deeply drawn to subtle symbolism, fine lettering, and poetic, emotional themes. I love creating tattoos that say a lot without shouting — delicate, elegant, and timeless.

Where do you find inspiration?
I find inspiration in people — their stories, emotions, and experiences. Every client brings something unique and deeply personal, and it’s that emotional connection that drives my creativity. Translating their story into a visual language is the most fulfilling part of what I do.

What do you like to do in your free time? Any hobbies?
In my free time, I love sketching, reading, and taking long walks. I’m also passionate about music, fashion, and visiting galleries — all of these things keep my mind open and my creativity flowing.
How do you see the evolution of your style in the future? What are your goals?
I want to continue developing my signature style and reach the highest levels of my profession. I’ve already been honoured with two 1st place awards at tattoo conventions — one in the Graphic category and one for Best Fine Line Tattoo. My work has also been featured in some of Germany’s most respected tattoo magazines, but I know this is just the beginning — my journey is far from over.

Thank you for having me — it’s a real honour. I’m grateful for every person who trusts me with their skin and their story. Tattooing is a journey I share with each client, and I can’t wait to keep growing, learning, and creating meaningful art.
