Evolve the research in tattoo art by hanging out with a lot of good artists and hosting them in her ‘Oniria Tattoo Parlour’ in Logroño. This is the main objective of a true artist like Andrea.
Andrea, what led you in life on the adventurous path of tattoo art?
Hi folks! I am a 35 year old tattoo artist who lives in a small town called Logroño, in the north of Spain. I studied art at high school, then I graduated in graphic design, but I never worked as a graphic designer. Before tattooing I worked in Madrid doing hand-made special effects for movies. Years later I began to be interested in the tattoo world because I realized that I could transfer my art onto people’s skin.

How would you define your art? Without putting too many labels on it, how would you like the rest of the world to see your tattoos?
Most of my work is always made with the same colors: red, turquoise and gold. I also enjoy doing Black and Grey tattoos. My style was born with Old School tattoos as a reference but it’s evolving towards illustration and decorative arts since my goal is to do big projects like full legs, arms, back pieces etc.
I’m looking to adapt my tattoos to the anatomy of my client getting as a result a single piece.
I would like people to see my tattoos as unique jewels on the skin, that is why I use resources such as gold, gems and pearls. In this way I achieve a contrast thanks to the brightness of these elements and the flat colors from the Old School.

What does inspiration represent for someone like you? I imagine it’s a process that must also go hand in hand with the client’s ideas, right?
My greatest source of inspiration and what motivates me to evolve are the trips I make as a guest tattoo artist and all the tattoo conventions where I can meet other tattoo artists with different styles and ways of working. In most of my tattoos, the first idea is given by my client, but luckily they give me a lot of freedom when it comes to designing. In this way I can continue to evolve my style and they take home an original piece, it is a win-win!

Do you have a point of reference (male or female) within tattoo art?
I have several tattooers as reference, all of them in different styles, from the Old School by Cedric Weber (IG: @cedric.weber.tattoo), through to the Ornamental compositions made by Filouino (IG: @filouino) and the Color and Realism illustrations of Daria Pirojenko (IG: @pirojenko_tattoo). Although Ikos/Yeray Perez (IG: @ikostattoo) and Viviana Calvo (IG: @vivianacalvotattoo) are currently attracting all my attention.

And what would you ask of all of them?
I would ask all of them the same question – “How do you manage to get such clean work with those solid colors?”.

Would you like to tell me about the studio you co-own, ‘Oniria Tattoo Parlour’ in Logroño and especially about your interaction with Sergio Hidalgo?
Yeah, after several years of tattooing in different tattoo studios, I met my current partner Sergio Hidalgo (IG: @sergiohidalgoart). As we had the same vision of the tattoo world focused on the ambition of evolving and doing more personal tattoo projects, we needed a private space where we could give a closer treatment to the client and that would allow us to continue traveling to other tattoo studios and conventions.

This is how ‘Oniria Tattoo Parlour’ (IG: @oniria.tattoo) was born less than a year ago. As it is a small space, with two workstations, we only welcome those tattoo artists with whom we connect on our trips. But we really appreciate the interest of those artists that text us to come as guest spots.

What kind of 2025 would you like to experience in terms of tattoo conventions, guest spots and purely personal projects?
As we recently opened ‘Oniria Tattoo Parlour’ (IG: @oniria.tattoo), I only plan to travel to two conventions. The first is to attend the ‘Gods of Ink’ convention in Frankfurt (IG: @godsofinktattooconvention) as a visitor, along with more friends, and support one of them who will be tattooing.

I’m excited to see what a convention of this level looks like from the inside, I have only participated in smaller conventions. The second convention I’ll travel to with these same friends will be in Italy, for the first edition of ‘Como Tattoo Convention’ in the province of Como. In this case, I will tattoo and try to take home some prizes.
The reason for making fewer trips this year is to be able to receive guest artists in our studio and be focused on big projects.

Do you also set yourself any personal challenges?
Yeah, I would like to have more visibility on social media, be able to collaborate with other artists to learn from them, and finally, be able to attend tattoo conventions with international recognition like ‘Gods of Ink’.

And your last famous words are… ?
After these last years of traveling, I don’t know where I heard it before, but I would say this: “When you fight for something, you earn more than what you lose”.
