This year the Montreux Tattoo Convention (Switzerland) has been held on September 21st, 22nd, 23rd. It has become one of the places to be for tattoo lovers!

On this occasion, and because of a strict selection done by the organizers, 160 tattoo artists from all aver the world showed their own artwork to the world. Once again, thousands of visitors came to enjoy the event and it was the chance for them not only to enjoy the art of tattooing, but also to attend great events.

For three days, the well known 2m2c Convention center hosted this cultural event, and visitors had the opportunity to walk around the alleys being closer than ever to the tattoo artists. Also, and as usual now in tattoo conventions, tattoo contests were organized every day. But some great happenings and contests were likely to blow our mind. Great artists as The Last Moan, Elliot Murphy & Olivier Durand and the Blue Mojo bands were lighting up the nights with their music.

This year, the Montreux Tattoo Convention also supported a fundraiser for the ARTC (Association for research on Brain Tumor). During the Mondial du Tatouage 2018, and with the help of the organizers, I had the privilege to produce a series of portraits of tattoo artists wishing to support the “Fuck You” Cancer Project: more than 35 tattoo artists are now offering an original artwork that were auctioned along with their snapshot portraits.

Among the tattoo artists who made this project possible are: the Leu Family, Kari Barba, Checker Demon tattoos Studio, Jordie Doubt, Kashu Horishin and Lucy Hu, the Rebel Rabbit Tattoo, Kazuyoshi Nakano Horiyoshi 3 souryou, Yugo Omniinks, Miss Atomik, Flo & Cyr, Leo Barada, Laura satana, Flying Dutchman, Diego Moraes, Sailor Bit & Raph Vo, Elie Hamon, Lorena Morato, just to name a few.

They all worked hard to make this project possible for the last 6 months. I am also happy to inform you that the well known street artist STEW participated in this project. His frescoes and murals are like tatooes on the skin of the street. Check out also the great photographers Fabien Wolff-Georges and John MC for more amazing pictures done during the Montreux Tattoo Convention 2018.

I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank each and every one who got involved in the project. We are all looking forward to join the 5th Montreux Tattoo Convention (20-21-22 Sept 2019) because the organizers will definitely surprise us one more time!
