Hello Tattoo Lovers, the star of this “Have a Nice Weekend” is Marília. She is a true tattoo lover who found herself through tattooing. She is a big fan of movies, sometimes she looks as a hardcore girl, but her dream is to travel the world and to have a family.
Hello Marilia would you like to introduce yourself to our readers?
My name is Marília Barrionuevo, I am a big fan of body art and body modification. I’m not good in expressing myself with words so I paint.
Where are you from and how old are you?
I am originally from Uppsala, Sweden but I was raised in Brasil. I am 24, turning 25 this year.
Let’s talk about your tattoos. Who has tattooed you and why this important choice of the neck?
My tattoo artist is Ezequiel (@ezequielromankiu). I am a big fan of movies, especially movies that touch me deep in my feelings. I was inspired by the creatures from “Pan’s labyrinth”. It’s funny because it’s not a beautiful creature to look at, people get afraid of it (they usually think it’s a demon or a monkey) but once they get to know me, they see that I am not as “hard core” as I appear if that makes sense. I feel like my neck tattoo protects me from the outside.
How you would define the style of your tattoos and why did you choose it?
Well I don’t look at a specific style, I have a bit of everything. Lately I’ve been into dark tattoos, especially this one on my neck.
I really don’t mind anymore if the tattoo looks good or not. It’s more a personal taste, each tattoo reminds me of a certain period of time of my life.
What do you do for a living?
I am a plastic art student and I do modelling. But it’s very hard to get big jobs because I have a specific look which unfortunately usually does not fit the profiles. I usually work with small brands.
How do you see tattoo art?
A way to express yourself, that is a very common opinion I think, nothing so original maybe.
To me, tattoo art beautify myself, gives me self-confidence and helps with self-esteem.
And why did you start to get tattooed?
I started pretty early, when I was 14. I’ve always found tattoos beautiful so I wanted to get one so bad. There’s no way back after you get your first one.
Do you have a special dream for your life?
Apart from finishing covering my body with tattoos, I want to travel the world and build a family, small but beautiful!
Do you have a motto to say hello to our readers and to your followers?
“You do you” I learnt not to care about what people say when it comes to my appearance. It’s 2020 and people still judge who has big tattoos. You know what? Smile to them and get a tattoo.
