The blond tattooed musician will be bringing out his new album‘Tenderness’ on May 31st, with a preview song you can listen to here…
Duff McKagan, the much-tattooed bassist of Guns N’ Roses who is a native of Seattle and for the past few years has also been writing bestsellers, will bring out his new solo album “Tenderness” on May 31st next.
We have already got a foretaste of the album with the titletrack which has been doing the rounds for a while now and the lyrics of which you can savour in the video below.
McKagan started work on “Tenderness” about a year ago, in March 2018, in the Station House studios in Echo Park, California. Duff says, “Going out on the road and experiencing the world on the recent tour of Guns ‘N’ Roses called Not In This Lifetime… was simply extraordinary. At the end I decided that the ideas I had in my head had to become a record and not a book”.
McKagan is quick to say what these ideas were: “The suffering, rage, fear, confusion and divisions that I came across travelling with the band all came together in the words of these new songs. Song that tell my truth, that I hope will get out there and help all of us”.
The tattooed bassist continues: “You ask me about Tenderness? Well, it’s about unity and peace. I want my record to make people reflect and bring some relief, if that isn’t too ambitious an aim… (smiles). As a father I have to say and do something because I love my daughters and my wife and my country. I feel like I have to be strong and use my voice now that I have the chance”.
“Tenderness” comes out after the publication of McKagan’s best-selling book in the States in 2015 called “How To Be A Man (And Other Illusions)”.
Enjoy the music!
