Bishop was founded in California in 2008, revolutionising the art of tattoo, launching cutting edge products that would allow every tattooer to express their maximum potential.
In no time at all this brand colonised the world and in 2018 it arrived in Italy where they set up Bishop Italy Tattoo Supply, official distributor for all of Europe.
The vast product range, from machines to needles and tips… is unrivalled for quality and innovation to satisfy tattoo artists the world over, including such big names as Carlos Torres, Niki Norberg, Dimitri, Shige, and Antonio Macko.
Today Bishop Italy describes some of their products for us, giving us the low down from those who live and breathe the brand every day. Who better than the members of the Brigade Bishop Italy to tell us about the famous V6 tattoo machine or a Da Vinci needle or INK-EEZE products.
First up is the artist Pierfrancesco Eight, Resident at Macko Tattoo Shop in Monopoli, in the province of Bari. Eight, specialized in the Black’n’Grey style, like his master Antonio Todisco, executes original shading with Da Vinci cartridges, the number 17 magnum curved to be precise, and the number 11 and 9 magnum for the fine details.
Another member of the Brigade, Denis Casella aka Posco Losco, tells us that the most amazing innovation from Bishop are the tips, which can be used on all the machines, adapted to all the cartridges, but which are unique in particular for their solidity and the way they counter balance the weight of the machine.
The master Andrea Pallocchini, another member of the Team, focuses on the ointments in the INK-EEZE line; Green / Purple /Pink Glide, with different colours and scents facilitate and soften the impact of the needle on all skin types.
“Without a good ink, no tattoo can be a success”” – says the last member of the Brigade, Simone Web; Bishop Italy recommends Nocturnal Ink, because, as Web confirms, for Black’n’Grey and not just that style, it is the shade that makes the difference! As you dilute the colour, the effect is grey and not blue like with most other inks.
The last products mentioned, but without any doubt the best known, are the machines.
Bishop has tattoo machines for all styles, launching new models on the market every year that are paragons of high technology and quality. From the ever popular V6 to the innovative wand which comes in three versions, the Bishop brand can satisfy any tattooer; there are artists who fall for one single model, and remain loyal to it all their lives, but then there are those who like to try out new ideas and keep up with the times, even going so far as to collect limited editions; an example of this kind of artist is one mentioned above, Gianfrancesco Eight, who apart from the classic Bishop machines, jealously holds on to his Microangelo Mister cartoon and Fantom Macko Rose Gold, which can no longer be found anywhere on the market.
And a distinctive feature of all Bishop products is the design; even the Clip Cords, which might be considered of minor importance, are tastefully designed and would appeal to any tattooist. The desire to keep on expanding the product range and promote the brand is a guiding Vision which distinguishes both the American parent company and Bishop Italy which for two years now has been assisting customers with the selection and purchase of products as well as providing after sales service so that their success grows out of the satisfaction of veteran and up and coming tattoo artists.
Bishop supports their international Tattooists at major Conventions worldwide such as the London Tattoo Convention.
